On February 1, 1955 Floyd Snow was designated by the Civil Aeronautics Administration to act as a Designated Engineering Representative. Floyd’s certificate number was LA-26.

In July of 1930, Floyd Snow flew his self built monoplane for the first time in Panaca, Nevada. This aircraft featured a 50 HP Gnome Rotary Engine as its powerplant. Construction was simple metal and wood with doped canvas. Aviation resources were limited in Panaca in the 1930’s requiring Floyd to be creative with his manufacturing techniques and limited supplies. In 1956 Floyd Snow founds Aircraft Technical Service to provide design engineering services for the growing aviation industry in Southern California.
