Ventura Aerospace has received an STC for the installation of a rigid cargo barrier in the DC-9-81, DC-9-82, DC-9-83 and MD-88. This STC will be used on the AEI MD-80 freighter conversion program which has also just received an STC.

Once again, a Ventura Aerospace rigid cargo barrier has been used to prevent the migration of smoke from a Class E cargo compartment into the cockpit. This most recent test marks the fifth time that we have been able to pass a smoke penetration test without redesign to the barrier. AEI has developed a solid platform in the MD-80SF.
